Houseplants for Low Lighting

HouseplantsDo our dim winter days (all 6 _ hours of them) sometimes get you down? You may feel you’ll go crazy from lack of light, but what of your poor houseplants? They can STARVE if they don’t get enough light to photosynthesize! Fortunately, some plants can thrive in the dimmest of situations - even a standard Northwest interior in November.

Here are some of our favorite "low lights":

- Aglaonemia
- Asplenium nidis (Bird’s Nest Fern)
- Aspidistra (Cast Iron Plant)
- Chamaedora Palms—Parlor Palm, Bamboo Palm, Reed Palm
- Hedera helix (English Ivy)
- Howea forsterana (Kentia Palm)
- Phoenix roebeliana (Dwarf Date Palm)
- Schefflera arboricola
- Sansevieria (Snake Plant)
