Cover Crops
Now
is the time to plant cover crops.
Planting cover crops in unused beds is a cheap and effective
way to improve your soil during the winter season. Cover crops
reduce soil erosion and compaction during our winter rains,
reduce the growth of weeds, and add organic matter to the
soil when you till them under in the spring. Most varieties
even add nitrogen to your soil for free!
Sky
carries a full line of fall-sown cover crops: rye, vetch,
crimson clover, Faba beans, Austrian field peas, and various
mixes. Not sure which is the best for your situation? Just
look at our free information sheet, or ask one of our experts.
