Did our cold, wet spring and the hot days of July put your pots on a downward roller-coaster ride? Well, hold on!! Here comes the fall season! If you feel your containers need a make-over, this new season brings you many choices for exciting change. In the Flowershed Sky offers an array of container accents called ‘Fall Magic’™, many of them evergreen and/or perennial, to replace those annuals that shrink at first frost. Ajuga ‘Black Scallop’ or ‘Burgundy Glow’ gives a wonderful contrast to cheerful calibrachoa. Muehlenbeckia (creeping wire vine), lends a soft cascade of small bright green leaves while Salvia ‘Tricolor’ (pink, white and sage) or golden ‘Icterina’ adds some flash to their surroundings. Also available will be the reliable dusty miller, bright winter pansies, and, of course, colorful mums to usher in the autumn. Cabbage and kale will develop more intense colors during the winter in shades of purple, pink, lavender and white. Add some drama and texture with dwarf conifers or evergreen grasses. Also quite winter-hardy are evergreen perennials such as bergenias and our wonderful selection of heucheras, in tones of amber, burgundy and lime. Now we’re on a roll...the coaster is heading back up! Come in and Sky will give you great suggestions and great plants for that pot make-over!
